HOW MANY WEEKS LEFT?!?! (Baby moon and Baby shower)

Any day now baby girl....Any day!!!

I have to admit I have been avoiding the blogging world. I thought I was going to be super "posty" about this pregnancy because I have loved following all my cute friends during their pregnancies and thought it would be fun to put my 2 cents in. That quickly changed when I saw my body change and became a little bit shy posting or even taking pictures. I have had a blissful pregnancy and maybe I can back track a bit and recap now that I am not so embarrassed!

2 WEEKS?
Yep your eyes are not tricking you that says 2 weeks.
Our first pregnancy has been a blast with just a touch of uncomfortable. Right now we are anxious to meet her but not ready for this pregnancy to be over. You only have 1 first pregnancy you know? I love spending more time with this sweet baby's daddy but, we can't wait to spend time as a family of 3 so whenever she is ready so are we!

I am feeling huge but still able to do most anything I want to, besides tie my shoes in under 10 min:) We don't have to OFFICIAL name decided but we have ideas! We are hoping her seeing her precious face will help with the final decision.
I haven't been good at taking really good bump glamour shots but I have some shameful bathroom selfies. These started when my mom was out of town and didn't want to miss the belly growing so I kept sending them to her. The lighting in my work bathroom  must make me look huge because I would walk by the mirror and think "man I am huge! I have got to send this one to mom." So the pictures somehow always ended up in the work bathroom mirror!
At the basketball banquet and we were around 14 weeks when we told the world. I was so self conscious the whole night because I though everyone could tell I was pregnant. I even changed 5 times until I found a more concealing dress
shameful bathroom selfies for mom like I mentioned this was around 19 weeks

At just under 20 weeks we wanted to go roller skating for our anniversary. Again my brain must have been broken because I thought I was so CLEARLY pregnant:) I don't think it is really that safe to roller blade pregnant now that I think of it.
around 24 weeks
Just around 27 weeks picking up my cute cousins from the airport and at stadium of fire with Josh and Meag

Just under 29 weeks and the belly starts to really pop!

Daddy Painting Baby's ROOM!!!

This was about 33 weeks
.....and 37 weeks!!!
That's my quick progression through 38 weeks of really awesome;);) bump pictures.

At the end of August my mom's cute friend and my family threw me a precious baby shower just after Josh and I ventured home from our quick baby moon in St. George. I couldn't say thank you enough to them and for all the people that came. This baby is so loved already and I was so overwhelmed with all the support! It was beautiful and I couldn't have wished for better!

Are the Recruit Rumors Real? Is The Sharp Bunch Really 3?

Rumor has it that the Sharp Bunch is going from 2 to 3.
In case you missed it here is what was circulating on April 1st, 2014.

Thanks to a very well timed brother comment on Facebook (or some may say ill timed:)) and just the fact that it happened to be April Fools some were weary of the news... We can proudly and excitedly announce 2 days AFTER April Fools......

THE NEWS IS INFACT TRUE!

Now I know there has been past controversy and silliness of announcing "fake" pregnancies on facebook, and if our announcement timing bothered anyone we apologize. We happened to move into the second trimester almost exactly to the day and it was just so like this baby's daddy to post on such a funny day so we took advantage of that and Josh had a lot fun with it.

We had been hoping for a little one to join our family soon but, were weary of basketball season so we are thrilled our baby will be here before Josh starts his senior year of basketball. I want to document this pregnancy the best I can and a Journal and this Blog is the best way so this is a good outlet for us; but feel free to follow along through our baby journey! We have already appreciated the love and support we have received from friends and family so, THANK YOU!!!

Here is our little story:

One night in January, I was driving home after watching Josh play (on tv, he was away) I had a feeling I was pregnant and wanted to test but, from a past month experience I had wasted tests and didn't want to do that again. So I decided to wait until that next Monday to test. BUT it was Saturday night and I couldn't buy one on Sunday but I knew I needed to test first thing in the morning Monday so I justified buying a test late Saturday night;) I know I am tricky:)

In the meanwhile Josh is flying home and I can never fall asleep when I know he will be home soon (even though he specifically called and said don't wait up:)) so I got ready for bed climbed in and decided to watch Netflix until he got home. Of course my mind got the best of me and I ran downstairs and had to take the test, I mean I had 2. I could save one until Monday right ;) I immediately set it down with disappointment settling in and I already started to feel guilty knowing I should just wait a couple more days. I look down at the developing test and all of a sudden the 2 pink lines show up! 2 PINK LINES!!! It was the best "that" moment feeling. I cried and screamed and started running around the house trying to figure out how I was going to tell Josh...

It was late and I wanted to tell him in a fun way. I knew he would be off the plane in just 2 hours and I knew I couldn't let him climb in bed without saying SOMETHING! I ran to smiths across the street and gathered a few things and got them ready. ( I will write a post on how we told everyone later). He came home I handed him his little gifts and he thought I was joking. Once it set in Josh was all smiles and immediately called our little one HIM and has been doing so since. So him is natural to us to talk about so it will be funny if he has to switch to HER. Him or Her either way we are thrilled!

We found out very early at like 4 weeks but didn't want to take a picture because of how early it was.
Finally I agreed to take a picture at 8 weeks which is above. Obviously no sign of a bump but we needed to get a starting point though :) You can tell this whole picture thing felt a little awkward to me and we hadn't planned a cute way to document it yet but, we will get better:) I will update our 13 week and 14 week pictures soon!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I look forward to this time of the year...well all year!
As much as I may not like the cold, the first snowfall is so beautiful, and I can't picture Christmas without it being "white." This is the view from my desk at work.

I try to not wish days away, but there is something magical about the holidays! The music, the decorations, the stories, and family.

The season always starts around thanksgiving. NO not just because once it is over we can start celebrating Christmas.

This was the first time, I can remember, that we have had a small Thanksgiving with just my mom, Josh, Hannah, Kage and I. The rest of our family was out of town and if felt weird, but at the same time was so nice.

This was also the first time I got to contribute to the meal, its not big but, Josh and I were pretty excited about it.
My mom and I also ran a little turkey trot and got third in our age division so we won HUGE pies!

ANYWAY....

There is just something new about the holidays being a wife and in our own home. I always thought that Christmas magic was amplified when you get to celebrate with little children, (which is still true), but getting to set up my own home, and my own tree made Christmas a little more special for me.
This was my Christmas project this year.

I just found wooden letters at Hobby Lobby, bought sparkly spray paint and spray painted my heart out. I picked out my ribbon and "wood-stapled" the letters down.....easy easy...and I have to say I came up with it without pinterest help...which is rare for me these days:)

Joshuas games are going well, he was the xojo player of the game last weekend! I was so proud of him but, we had a really tough loss to the Utes that night so it was a bummer at the same time, but that's all we are going to say about that! We start conference play once Christmas is over and we are looking forward to that. Hopefully we will have some big wins against some of our big names like St. Mary's and Gonzaga.
(the shirts we made for the Games... I know its kinda blurry.)

Being a basketball wife also has its perks around the season as well. In fact this is my favorite part about being involved in the basketball program. Every Christmas we get to go to an even for children with cancer, now called "Mac's Gift." Although it breaks my heart, these children and their families are so precious. We love playing games with them and seeing their faces light up. There is nothing better than getting good news updates that their child is in remission and seeing miracles happen everywhere. Although I wish it were under better circumstances, I love seeing those sweet children. That is what Christmas is supposed to be about!

I made these little treats for Josh's teammates this year they look a little light in this picture but they are supposed to be little lumps of "coal"(recipe at the end)

We hope you all have fun preparing for and enjoying the Holidays.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you remember the true meaning of Christmas.

 I thought this was adorable!

OH and P.S. Look what our little guy got us for Christmas... yep so fun to clean up:)

He is our "muddy buddy"

Merry Christmas
Love,
The Sharps

COAL recipe
(I did two batches for about 60 2-3 inch lumps)
This is a great recipe for neighbors and under 20 dollars
5 cups of Rice Crispies
6 cups of marshmallows
3 tbs. of butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
1& 1/2 sleeves of Oreos(crushed)
Black food coloring

Melt the butter on low and add the 6 cups of marshmallows, vanilla and food coloring until it is the color you want it, then turn the heat up to medium.
Mix the Rice Crispies and crushed oreos.
When the marshmallows are melted mix the rice crispies mixture.
When mixed take off the burner and create your coal shapes.
Let it cool for about 15-20  min and then deliver to friends, family, neighbors, or enjoy alone!

Cougar Fans, ITS TIME.....

BASKETBALL SEASON IS HERE!!! BASKETBALL SEASON IS HERE!!!BASKETBALL SEASON IS HERE!!!

I am excited, I promise! I get a lot of questions about what it is like being a basketball wife and if I am sad for season or if I get lonely...and yeah I do get a little lonely and I miss Josh like CRAZY when he is on the road but, more than either of those I love to watch him play.

I love to see him work hard and do something he loves, I love meeting and getting to know the new guys and their families, I love road trip phone calls and texts, I love the excitement from the crowd I love wearing blue and white all the time, I love the half-time shows and contests, I love having family and friends in one area almost every couple of days and I feel so blessed from the things we get to participate in so there is no reason to complain here!

(I have followed this channel since they began and this is one of my all time favorites!!!)

It didn't really hit or even phase me that season was starting until we met up for our annual kick off dinner for the season. This dinner is just for the wives of the players and coaches. This year we met up at Communal (I highly suggest it) in provo. I am the only players wife this year but I still had so much fun and I admire each of the coaches wives. They are incredible ladies and when I say incredible I mean it! They are talented and fun and can I say above and beyond beautiful in all forms. They are so supportive of Josh and I and I just feel so spoiled to be around them.

Then, we had Boomshakala!

Now, that was so much fun!!! The music, the environment, the excitement and all of our friends and family coming to watch was just the greatest! I hope they do it again next year! The boys did great and it was fun to watch them all participate in the 3 point contest, the skills challenge and the dunk contest. Of course the dunk contest was my favorite because Josh was in it and he never ceases to amaze me!
I got bored at work and decided to draw him a "pump up picture:)" I don't think you can get dorkier than that;)

He even trusted me enough to let me be apart of one of his dunks! I am still not sure if that was a good idea or not but I had SO much fun practicing with him! I was supposed to time it properly that I could throw it up, he could catch it above me, and then dunk it over me! I kinda messed him up the first time because I was all nerves and I couldn't really see him with the lights right in my eyes but we nailed it the second time.....here are the highlights with all of the dunk guys if you missed it!

Next we had the blue and white scrimmage game and our first exhibition game! I love the exhibition games because it is the first time I get to see all of the guys on the court playing together. We have a lot of incredible athletes on the team this year and I am excited to see what they do with it! We ended the night with a 94-59 win over Colorado college with Matt named player of the game with 23 points and Kyle with a double-double! Keep it coming boys!

See you on Saturday at home @7pm for our Last exhibition game again Anchorage!!!

Dear Ruby,

IMG_3411edit
I know it’s not obvious but you are in there. I remember when your mom told me she was pregnant and she was beaming.
Dearest Ruby your mom loves you more than a human can describe in words and I could see it in just that short moment.

I love your mom and she was there for me, right after my parents divorce, a time I really needed someone. I was in a new city after their divorce and wanted to do something I enjoyed, I wanted to find a way to serve, but could preoccupy my mind. So I decided to enter the pageant and I met her through that pageant I was in. She was my pageant host or even better my “backstage mom”. She was always there and always ready to help. She never missed a beat. She eased my nerves, she comforted me after disappointments and most of all she made me want to be a better person. Your mom is amazing and strong and you are a lucky little girl. Although she may not know it, she impacted my life so I want to honor your mom by celebrating you!
Ruby I love picturing you as a little girl cheering up everyone around you on the other side, giving kisses to little Hank before he came to the earth, and watching over your family. I imagine all the talents you have in heaven and the difference you make. You are an inspiration to me and so many people and you are so tiny. It proves great things come in small packages. I wanted to give away something that reminded us to keep you in our minds….

And close to our hearts…

Thank you Ruby for teaching us a little bit more about life and love.
Love,
Jordan Sharp
To win the Piano Guys CD (love love love them!!!) and necklace you will have to serve or learn a lesson from a child. Just like ruby taught us. I know being a mom is serving all day but the service has to be just a little bit extra then just your day to day routine. It doesn’t have to be big but to just take a little more time to do something extra.:)
