Ta Da!!! We're Back!

Wowzer I haven't posted anything on here for what seems like a decade! The reason can be summed up in one word... School! I had an upper level English class mixed with Anatomy and a nutrition class. That anatomy class kicked my butt but I loved it! I even applied to be an anatomy TA and will start probably end of June...I am just a little addicted!
Josh and I are also in summer classes which are just the greatest! We get to sit inside all day while everyone is enjoying the weather. Aren't you jealous?
Well we haven't spoken since DECEMBER the season is over and we are about to start a new one so here is a quicker than quick recap

We never got to share our first Christmas ornament from Grandma and Grandpa Wilson (Lisa's Parents)

We celebrated our first year engaged mark:) We will find any reason or excuse to celebrate!

Celebrated Valentines Day! Brandon and Tyler......I mean B&T Escourts Picked us up for our date complete with a red carpet and drinks and snacks in the back seat topped of with a love mix. ( I am going to Miss Brandon!)

I know its not the best image but it was the only one I had :)

We Snuck away to St. George to Watch our best bud Kimball play BYU-HI and to get a little warmth

I followed the team to Vegas for the WCC championship, a heartbreaker but, still turned into a fun trip.

this guy was hilarious trying to sell us music ended up giving us a free cd

I loved meeting up with my uncle mo!

Morgan took us out to the best breakfast and I had orange juice in a martini glass:)

this store is my heaven

Uncle Mo bought me a crepe from the really cool dessert place in Bellagio.

Then among the midst of anatomy and other classes and after watching our team play an amazing first couple of rounds of the NIT at home,  I snuck away to NY for the NIT final four tournament! I had never been before so I was wide eyed the entire time!
We had the most amazing Plane Food on the charter, once in a lifetime experience!
Sadie, Sarah, Aubrey and I at Grand Central "Terminal" (station)

 central park! My favorite!

 The Met!

The boys got to go to an extremely nice dinner and we thought they looked so handsome so we had to take a pic. Of course my husband has an apple in his mouth.

The past couple pictures were from Ripley's Believe it or not museum that was one of my favorite things because almost the whole team went and we had a blast together!

My first experience on subways (all drenched)

One of the new world trade center towers, it was so rainy but I think this was cool!

another grand central shot

The team at Madison Square

I don't know about you but I turned 22!

JAKE GOT HIS MISSION CALL!!! I am so excited for him and so proud of him! London is going to be extremely lucky in August!

Then we rounded out the season with the Basketball banquet! Such a bitter sweet night to remember our successes and say goodbye to the seniors and their families that we have come to love. I am so proud of Josh and all of his hard work! He really works very hard at everything and it makes me so proud to be his wife.

which brings us to NOW

....and we will reserve that for the next post:)

ITS A BIG ONE!!!

With finals coming up the blog is on the backburner! So we will do a BIG (but don't worry not boring) UPDATE!!!

FLORIDA STATE- LOSS 70-88
NOTRE DAME- LOSS 68-78
UT-SAN ANTONIO WIN 81-62
CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE-WIN 87-75

As you saw we had two bummer losses while the guys were in New York but, they came back and got in the groove. From what I hear, its harder to play away especially your first away game of the season. From what I KNOW its so hard on us basketball widows that first away game. This one was like 5 days away so hopefully if I can get through that trip I can get through the rest of the season. Its kinda scary, but mostly so lonely when I am home by myself... so, luckily I have an amazing mom in pleasant grove that lets me sleep there:) She took my mind off Josh being gone, by a full on girls weekend! We saw Breaking Dawn (awful:)), went shopping with Meag, ALL OVER Utah county, and out to dinner at Cheesecake Factory (best place in the world)!

Back to B-ball-

Josh just AMAZES me! He continues to improve every game and he pulls out some awesome play or trick in every game. My favorite is when he DUNKS! There is nothing that can get me on my feet quicker, than when that ball goes through the hoop with a slam! I feel bad for the people who sit behind me because I am on my feet even for his lay-ups! THE ABSOLUTE WORST is when you see him between a jump ball or defending a big guy or on the ground after a charge! my heart stops and in my head I keep saying, don't be injured, don't be injured until he is back up and running around. He has had a reoccurring ankle injury that we haven't seen for a while (knock on wood) and we don't want it to come back!

Back to home life-
I SET UP MY TREE!!!!!!!
It is so cute! And it was the coolest feeling setting up my very OWN, FIRST, Christmas tree! Its a tiny little guy so it can fit in our cute little apartment but I love it!

FINALS- bleh......only two weeks left until finals....so weird! I am avoiding studying for them AT ALL COSTS!!! but, then I know I really need to....I have to get all A's just to even dream about getting into the nursing program someday! And Josh has two "away" games this week! I can't even imagine how overwhelmed he must be...but then again, he is superman!

CHURCH- We got to teach this week! We really love our Gospel Doctrine class, they are DYNAMITE!!! The comments they share are so insightful and I know we learn each week just from this opportunity! Plus Josh is so good at it! It gives me one more reason to love the heck out of that boy!

Back to B-Ball
Jabari Parker came to the last game on his visit! They made like 6,000 shirts that said chicago to provo and there is a funny you tube video Josh showed me called Parker Style you should look it up!
With all that I don't know why he wouldn't come to BYU (other than the other hundred offers he has:)) AND Josh got to shake hands with Elder Christofferson! HE IS SO LUCKY! apparently he came into the locker room to congratulate them!

Game TONIGHT Vs Montana @ Energy Solutions Arena in SLC 7 pm!!! GO BYU!!!

Georgia state 80-62

We take home another Win! The season is starting off well and I am so proud of our boys. They are now in New York for a tournament, lets hope they bring home another win! If you want to support from home they are on Tru tv Friday at 5pm mtn time, and if they are in the championship game we will play saturday at 7:30!

I don't know if you have ever been to a game live, or if you just show up right at tip off, but if you ever find yourself at the game be there about 10 min. before tip off! White curtains drop from the ceiling to the floor and they play the pre game video with some shots of the guys and some highlight footage. The music in addition to the video makes you feel so pumped and you feel like you should be out on the court playing. I wish I could describe it better, but you will just have to come experience it!
A little taste of the video
Bonuses from being a wife:
-Watching his growth and talent skyrocket!
-Getting to yell for YOUR husband
-Getting to know the guys as guys instead of just players(they are all AMAZING!)
-Hearing all the funny things they do as teammates and friends. I love seeing them so close on and off the court! ( apparently the other day they had a powerade chugging contest)

After the game we met up with two of my awesome cousins Dustin and Ryne. They are 2 awesome guys! We went to JCWs and had a blast! I am so glad for the awesome family I have and for everyone who supports Josh!

I am telling you he never takes a serious picture!
We will see how this weekend goes with the games in NY and my first basketball widow weekend:) check back for an update:)

Home Opener! (plus blue and white and exhibition games)

The season is in full swing and it is so exciting! I didn't realize how much I missed basketball season! During the off season they practice, and practice, and practice and there is nothing to show for it, except bigger biceps :) It is so much easier to have him at practice during the season because there are games in between where we get to cheer them on.

Speaking of off season, I will never complain about it again! (maybe) The growth and the difference of skill improves so much in that time! I thought Josh was good before, but, he looks awesome this year... I am just so proud!!!

The season started off with a fun scrimmage blue & white game and some exhibition games. In the blue and white game Josh threw down an awesome dunk and the crowd and I went CRAZY! It was such a fun way to start the season. Just in case you want 6 angles of the dunk:)

Then Josh surprised us with a starting line-up debut in his first exhibition game and the Home opener against Tennessee! I can't describe the feeling you get when you see your husband slide off his warm ups and sit on the starting bench! I was just thrilled, and excited I wanted to scream! Good thing the Marriott Center is loud so I could! Although starting is fun for all of us, Josh doesn't care where he starts or finishes as long as he plays his best, his teammates do well and the team as a whole plays their hardest.

His teammates and coaches are a dream! We are so lucky to have such fun and good guys playing with Josh and amazing talented coaches who truly care about the boys as people and players! We know its not the same case for many other teams and we are SO GRATEFUL!

We are so excited for the season and grateful for all our friends and families' support! Check back after the next game! Bring it on Georgia State!

Life is a Fairytale

First things first....the blog change... Now that the season is in full swing and our life revolves around it I decided we would do a little rearranging! I am excited to document the season and share our inside perspective with you! Just a disclaimer with the title I don't necessarily consider myself a "beauty" it just worked with the title and was a fun feminine way to describe a wife....so I will claim it:)

Speaking of the title it really got me thinking about fairy tales and my life started to parallel one!

Meet my Fairy God-Mother:
My mom(the one on the right) with Nicole
Isn't she so beautiful! My mom is the epitome of a fairy god-mother some how she can get to you in an instant when you need her she helps provide any means or motivation for dreams you may have. She helps with any needs and even wants you may have. She is one of the most thoughtful people I know and I want to be like her when I grow up!

Meet my (not so evil) step mother:

Lisa is just amazing! One day at work I got a call that she had something for us and soon after she dropped off a load of groceries for us just because she wanted to be nice! She will never know how big of a help that was! We were in need of a grocery trip but just had NO TIME! I will always be grateful for that and I just consider myself SO LUCKY!!!
Lisa is always thinking of us and she has motivated us to keep our eyes open and serve others.

Meet my Pumpkin Carriage:

I am not the biggest fan of Halloween I don't like the scary, haunted, creepy idea BUT, I love seeing the fun and creative (not scary) costumes, carving pumpkins, making pumpkin seeds, and eating my moms goblin stew. These are our pumpkins this year
My Glass Slippers:
I am just in love with my running shoes. I have been working hard to get my legs back to race pace and it hasn't been fun. I have experienced some sort of injury every year since I broke my feet my senior year in a race and finally I HAVE NONE! (knock on wood) I haven't wanted to race until I felt back to race pace but, my mom and I decided to run a halloween 5k in American Fork.....and....IT WENT WELL! I came in 5th Women's Overall and 1st in my age division! My mom also came in 2nd in her age division! It was a small race but, it was good motivation to keep me going. I still need to get my time down ALOT but, I will get it there...eventually:)
My Prince Charming:

Life with Josh just gets better and better! I am so grateful to be his wife! He makes me and everyone around him laugh! I am so proud of him and I love watching him play and I am excited for the upcoming season and I know he is going to do SO WELL!!!
