Weekend Champions

Josh and I got to go back to our "alma mater" this weekend for our high school homecoming football game. Too be honest I was really excited to go back, but I really don't think I would just show up unless it was homecoming. I don't want to be a super super super super senior:) The game was fun but, the best part was running into my old family ward friends and being reminded of the AMAZING people I was blessed to have in my life. The craziest part was seeing all the little ones I used to babysit running around and flirting! These were seriously kids that needed babysitting at one time and now they are on their own and with the OPPOSITE gender! I never did that at such a young age ;) Speaking of little ones growing up my best friends little sister has grown up so much too! She did such an amazing job and it is so much fun to watch her cheer!
Love her!

Saturday was filled with chores and running around to get errands done! We finally got our apartment ALL cleaned up and put away it feels SO nice to have that done. Its funny to think I thought I was all grown up back when I was finished with high school, moving out and going to school, but now there are so many more "grown up" things we have to do on our own. Its really fun (although sometimes not that fun) to learn how to take care of "big kid" things together. BUT, If you know Josh and Jordan Sharp we are 10% work and 90% play, so we head up to Jordan Ricks cabin with a bunch of other couples to hang out, eat, and supposedly watch the BYU game. It was so fun to see so many great high school friends and meet others we didn't know. While we barbequed they tried to get the game to stream to the TV. About a half an hour before there was still no success so we decided to head over to Grandma Lynn's to watch the sad defeat of our cougars. There was some choice words and pacing given by my grandpa and some loyalty change at the end of the game but, although they lost we are still true blue BYU fans and I am glad we didn't miss it! What a CRAZY game! GO BYU!

We are finally rounding up the last of our wedding pictures today so I finally get to do a wedding post! (4 1/2 months later) I can't wait! We really are loving and learning more and more about married life. I love being a wife and finding new wife tasks that make Josh (or myself) happy. This week my new favorite thing is making lunches. I know so simple but, putting together lunches for the both of us the night before makes me feel so "wifely".

(a little side note, we are thinking of fun things to do for ambers 7 year birthday present any ideas....I guess pinterest here I come)

Oh boy....Do we have a story for you

Our life together is a never ending story. At all times it is our own romance, sometimes we add a sub genre like comedy, childrens, horror, drama and suspense. The suspense pretty much only happens when Josh is driving:)

This weekend probably combined ALL the genres in to one. Let's go back a little bit to Friday the 31st.
I will try to make such a long story short, but its just too funny!

August 31, 2012
We got to go to a good friend Brian and Brooke's wedding reception. We have been so excited to see some of our friends get married and they are no exception. They looked great and their reception was beautiful. We didn't get to stay long because we were FINALLY moving in to our new place! We hurried to pick up my dads truck then to Draper to pick up some furniture we were being given to borrow from Grandpa Gary. I never thought I would get that excited about furniture but, I was just giddy while loading it up and my mind raced on how we would arrange it. We hurried back to Provo unloaded it all (keep in mind Josh and are are doing all of this practically on our own) jumped back in the truck drove back to highland to get the matress located at Josh's home. It was a lot larger than we thought so we were cramming and smooshing and trying to get it to work. We finally got it to work tied down by some bungee cords. We started on our way back to provo but, the matress wasn't completely stable, so I reach out the back window and held them down...THE WHOLE DRIVE BACK. It was so funny and I just wanted to be on the outside seeing how FUNNY that might have looked. We then unloaded the matress, (p.s. the bungee chord was SHREDDED, probably would have given out in a couple more miles) jumped back in the car drove to traverse mountain to bring the truck back and FINALLY got to go home at about 1 am.

If I haven't lost you by now....trust me there is more:)
Sept. 1
For some reason the universe was out to get us on September 1st.
We woke up started our day of more packing and moving. Josh had basketball while I packed and ran errands.....and then it went downhill from there. I was doing our THOUSANDS of loads of laundry(living out of boxes is SO hard!) and then Josh had been bugging me about getting checks so I start to head down to the bank just like normal take a brief left and I look behind me and I see siren lights. I panic, I have never experience being pulled over before and almost didn't know what to do. I pull over and remember CRAP! my registration was due in August! The officer comes to the window and tells me he was pulling me over for speeding. I HAD NO CLUE I was speeding, I NEVER speed, in fact I have been known by friends and family for being a grandma driver. My emotions start to flood as he explains and gets my license from me. I had a personal goal to NEVER EVER get a ticket but, he comes back with my ticket and I just can't keep the emotions in. He then says to me "M'am there is no reason to cry, this isn't a situation to cry about." I then apologize and explain the only reason I was crying so hard was it was my first. So now I am a member of the ticket club and I get to go to traffic school. I finally get to the bank and only the bank tellers are open, not the lobby so then I feel like the ticket was WORTHLESS. We then pack up with the help of Meagan and Debbie (THEY ARE AMAZING!) we get a lot of things moved and the day was looking up!

We then got to go to the Piano Guys concert! WE LOVE THEM! If you haven't heard them or watched them on youtube....GO DO IT NOW (in fact I will post our favorite here later) We get there at 6 to get a good spot and the sky was beautiful and clear when all of a sudden we got a COLD gust of wind. It rained and rained and rained and rained, we had a zebra blanket to cover us but that soon got wet and really cold. Luckily we had some jolley ranchers with us, those make any situation better! The concert finally started at 8 after 2 hours of FREEZING. When they started the weather eased up and we were amazed at the music and felt like it was worth it to sit through the rain! We really enjoyed every second of the concert and even got to see the first live performance of "makes you beautiful" everything was looking up....until it started to pour on the second to last song. We decided to get up and walk so at least by the time we left the gates we would have heard all of the songs. (if we are sounding miserable and you can't take it anymore you might want to stop now:)
We get to the car and find out Josh's car key fell off somewhere in the grass at thanksgiving point, after some help from strangers, back tracking and grass digging we give up and call my dad and step mom to pick us up (fortunately they lived a couple minutes down the road) They took us grocery shopping and back to PG to get my car. We drove back to Lehi with the spare key then back to Provo. WOW its kinda stressful just to reminisce.

We really enjoyed our first sunday at our new ward and got to play duels with my family so I can't complain about anything there. We even got to hang out with Kimball and Leslie. We love them so much and wish they lived up here, so we would have friends but, we LOVE when they visit and we like it even better when we get to visit them is St. George!

Luckily we got a day off of the craziness but, it just NEVER stops!

Within the last 3 days also
-I failed my safety and emissions due to too much tinting on the back window, and a back left tire :(
-My phone screen blacked out for some reason, so I can't really communicate with anyone or turn off alarms that KEEP GOING OFF!
-Today I had my first little bumper smash in the school parking lot...nothing big someone just backed into me but since again it was my "first" I was just a little bit flustered.

I may just hide under my covers next labor day but all in all these things just turn out funny because:
-I am grateful I even have a car
-I love our new apartment and the ward
-I got to see my dad and lisa
-We have such amazing family that helps us with anything we need
-We get to go to school and have that paid for
-I am married to the greatest man and we have SO MUCH FUN!
-Josh eases any stress I have and being married to him makes these silly things hillarious
-I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and have the knowledge that I do.
-I am grateful for such AMAZING MUSIC!!!(see below) we love EVERY SINGLE ONE of Piano Guys songs.

First Day of School!

This is all I could think of the past couple days as I walked through UVU halls on the first day of fall semester. We have had a crazy couple of days since school started up and we don't see eachother much but I am excited to continue school and I have some AWESOME classes.

PHYSIOLOGY- we have a love hate relationship already. The cool thing about being a Junior and getting ready to apply for nursing is I am taking classes that really excite me and really matter to me. This is one of those. Everything the professor talks about gets my blood pumping and its exciting to know I am definately in the right field. The hate part of the relationship is how hard it is already! The concepts blow my mind and the reading is LONG! My professors exact words "I picked your text book because it is hard, No patient wants to come into a hospital to be treated by someone who was taught the easy way, with the easy text book." Fair enough right?
PSYCHOLOGY- I get to take the fun psych this semester, the one where we learn about development of humans from birth to death, again SO interesting to me and my teacher seems really relaxed. The fact she will be easy is so nice for my workload burden especially with the hours I will have to put in for physio.

ENGLISH-Easy peezy lemon squeezy. I just have to write. I only have 2 more english classes this one and next semester... can't wait to be done. Good thing I don't want to be an englsh major.

TENNIS AND POWERTONE- these are my brain saver classes. They help me stay active and aware while I am studying. I only can take so much work with the classes listed above but I have to be full time so I got to add two fun 1 credit classes and help me beat Josh in our semiannual tennis games! You are looking at the next maria sharipova!

WE GET TO MOVE IN THIS WEEKEND!!! we can't wait! and we get to go to the piano guys concert on saturday...expect a post on that and hopefully fun pictures!

I know you wanted to hear all about my classes...NOT! so here is something that really meant alot to me that kinda jumped into my life last night right when I needed it. Its an amzaing message and I hope you have the time to watch or listen or read it sometime. TRUST ME its worth it!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE Change....
This past week we have been in the process of moving, it is crazy we are going to move on to the next little adventure of our married life. We are moving to the luxurious, glamourous wymount:) Also been called the breeding grounds and my personal favorite...the rabbit pens. We are inbetween moving out of king henry and into wymount so we will be at Grandma Lynns. We love our grandma and are so lucky to have a place to go, but we will be so glad to be back in our own space!

I CAN'T BELIEVE Us......
I don't think Josh or I have ever experienced such a blonde moment. In the process of moving our shower decided to be clogged. Josh tried to fix it but, no luck. I regret to share this, but we avoided the shower due to the gross water remaining in the tub after being stagnant for a couple days. I finally called maintenance and they never came, so I gave in I HAD to get in the shower I had just worked out and couldn't NOT shower. I got in stood on the edges of the tub so my feet weren't in the nasty water and continued to shower feeling like a goofball. Once I got out the tub was more full than before. We continued to get ready for bed and all of a sudden Josh walks over to the tub and flips the plug switch down. WE HAD CLOGGED OUR OWN SHOWER!!! The water level slowly but surely decreased as we cracked up at the thought we were avoiding our own shower because the plug was on. I don't know if it gets more Blonde than that!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE Blessings...
Josh and I are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to school. We have a sort of rough draft map out until we are done. I apply for nursing school in May and Josh delclared His major of Economics and is hoping to be done in just a couple of semesters also. In the midst of this excitement we recieved another incredible, and might I say generous blessing! After applying for financial aid, we discovered today the rest of my schooling before I apply for nursing school is paid for! (as far as nursing school....we will apply again when we get there) I could not be more blessed and relieved.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE sharks.....
We have been watching too much shark week...enough said.....

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE Countdown
Our family has recently planned an AMAZING trip to Destin Florida to celebrate My Grandma and Grandpa Lynns 50th anniversary! The location and beach are just STUNNING!!! We can't wait although we have to It was planned for July 20-27...2013. ONLY 337 Days left.

1 year.....3 months....lets reminisce!

Just about 1 year ago I went on my last first date and luckily for me it was THE greatest first date. We have also hit 3 months of married life......Where has the time gone it feels like yesterday we were walking out of the temple doors and a BRANDNEW-ly married couple. I can still remember that moment like it was yesterday, although the day couldn't have flown by faster. Everything has been simply perfect the first three months and we have had so much fun during the summer. I am starting to prepare my self for the fall and basketball season...it will still be fun, but a lot less time together...ALOT!

Just a little recap of our past week before the reminiscing starts:)

The olympics.....what can I say more! We love it! We try to catch every little bit we can between work and basketball. The Mr. Bean part in the opening ceremonies even had Josh craving the movie so we had to go buy it. GO USA!
Happy Big 50! Josh's Dad turned the big 50 and we got to celebrate! We are so grateful for him and we couldn't be luckier to have him as a dad and father-in-law. He is an amazing bishop for his ward and such a jokester! I love watching him around his family and I am so grateful for his example and wisdom. We love you so much Joe!

Too funny!

We have this strange goal to develop the LARGEST movie collection (over time of course). We had a great start but, just for fun we raided the Walmart 5$ movie bins to enhance the collection.

Just a while back we went to go look at some extra furniture at Josh's Grandpa Gary's Draper house for our new apartment and went on a spontaneous adventure, we ended up in Sandy at chilis because of these demons...
I love them but I can't help hating the calories. Right after we decided to randomly go see Batman at the Jordan commons theater. Don't ask my review of the movie, I left in tears just feeling so bad about the victims in Colorado, it broke my heart. But, just ask Josh.....HE LOVED IT!

I am not one for bragging but, in this case....I just can't help it, my AMAZING husband spoils me! I was complaining about my running shoes (complaining might be an understatement) they were so broken down and making my toes fall asleep and we went and got new ones! I love them! Also on our third month anniversary he got me flowers and some new clothes!
My NEW shoes!!!

We also have this new thing for cooking and trying new recipes or just new easy meals these are a couple firsts and favorites we have had lately!
I should have taken a pic when this still looked pretty but its buffalo chicken salad and it is MY FAVORITE!!!

a Parmesan chicken bake with rosemary Potatoes

French dip sandwiches with a caesar salad YUM!

AND NOW FOR THE BIG REMINISCE....

Like I said 1 year ago I went on my first date with my (at the time) future husband, even though neither of us would have even guessed it! We went to a REAL soccer game with friends and we had a blast! I really remember thinking that it was the funnest date I had been on. We went to JCWs and shared a cookie-dough milkshake and fries. I remember feeling like good friends already after our first date and of course the worry came once he dropped me of......"is he ever going to call me again", "did he have fun", "was I too forward?", "did I not do enough".....It's really funny to think back to the single dating life and all the games and worries you have.

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures from our first date, but I do have some from when we went back to a game on our honeymoon...so that will be reminisce part two....Enjoy!
not the greatest picture but we are in park city drinking yoohoo out of wine glasses
Right back where we started:)

We loved walking up and down main street especially at night when it is all lit up and we found this little.....i mean big guy

On our way to church in park city... we never  did find that church building

I don't know if we will ever catch josh being serious for a pic! we were given this free dessert when we went to ruby river to celebrate our honeymoon!

Speaking of freebies....josh may or may not have got pulled over and may or may not have been  just given a warning because of all the Just Married paint.....It saved us!

Happy 4th!!!

What an awesome 4th we had! It all started on the 3rd when we got to pick up Amber and Meagan for a sleepover! We were so excited to get the girls even a midst all the alpine fire craziness. Josh's grandpa was evacuated so we were a little bit worried, but everything turned out okay, so far!

First, we took the girls to pick out a fish for our apartment. Josh and I love having a pet betta fish, when we were dating we had a fish named Wilfred Whaleheart who was unfortunately dropped down the sink by a roommate, then following Wilfred was Darth Betta, and now we have Finn Ryder. After picking out our fish we took the girls to get dessert at Brick oven, it was the same dessert we got the night Josh Proposed:)
Josh and Meagan at brick oven
We went home and watched Oliver and Company and put the girls to bed to get ready for our BIG 4th of July day planned!
The 4th of July
  • The day started off with the Freedom Run, I have been dying to get back into the racing life, like the good old days but, I seem to have had an injury all the time for the past two years. I have finally been able to get back on the streets and running and this was my first race back and it was so fun! I got about 13th in my age group which was okay...for now:)
  • Next we stopped by the Grand Parade there were some fun floats and Ambers favorite was all the star wars characters.
  • We left the parade early to hike the Y, Josh and the girls had never done it before so we thought it would be fun, and it definitely was!
meagan and I at the top
Josh meagan and I

Just for giggles:)
  • After the hike we went swimming to cool down and then finally after ALL that we had a moment to nap
  • Don't worry though, the day wasn't over:) we met up with my extended family and josh's mom at the stadium of fire like we have for as long as I could remember! We had so much fun and the highlight was my cousin DUSTIN came home from his mission and we got to see him there!
  • We had so much fun and we were so grateful to be able to see so much family
  • HAPPY BELATED 4th!!!
