Another Great Weekend...recap:)

I am noticing I am a weekend "recapper" since our weekdays are super busy, with boring things so we will just share our weekends so we "look" more interesting:)

Gotta love him
This weekend we went to the BYU football game with Josh's  family. We snagged this picture as evidence, and JOSH is never serious in pictures.....EVER. I figure if I post  enough silly pictures of him he may give me ONE good one eventually! The game is fun and we destroyed University of Hawaii...literally....2 guys were taken in an ambulance! (apparently they are okay though:))

After the game we decided to be a little less budget conscious, because I was NEEDING Costa Vida's Raspberry Chipotle Chicken  salad! This is seriously DIVINE, I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life! If you haven't tried it...this is a must!

I also had my first traffic school experience....unfortunately. It wasn't really that bad but, not the best 2 hours spent in my life....but, later that day I spent my time a little bit better by attending the Relief Society General Conference session. I really felt the spirit magnified this time and was really touched by the words spoken. I am so grateful for the gospel and for two great women (my mom and mother-in-law) who I got to attend with. If you missed it or want to watch/read it again here you go!

I seriously can't wait for General Conference this weekend!

Our last day before another busy week was just what we needed. Josh surprised me with an awesome budget sheet his dad helped him with on excel, I wish I knew more about how to use that program it really is amazing how it works! He is such an awesome guy to just jump in and do things that we really needed. We also got a calling in our new ward! We have been waiting and wanting to be involved for a while and are SUPER excited about it! (I guess I shouldn't unveil that yet:)) Lastly, we were invited over for dinner by a really cool couple in our ward. We had so much fun at their apartment and we really enjoyed the time we spent with them!
What a good way to start our new week!

All Domestic

This week I feel like I am getting all domestic! I don't know how you are "supposed" to be as a newlywed, but being married is the funnest thing I have ever done and part of it is because I  get to pretend like I am  a domestic wife. Sometimes, I still feel like I am playing house but, hey it was fun when I was 5 and it is still fun now!

Today officially marks the first day of our couponing career! My awesome step-mom is so good at this and gave us some good starting resources so I decided to try it! We decided to go all out and buy as much as we could to last us the next 2 weeks. We went to Smiths and ended up saving a little more than 22 dollars on our trip!!!(with the smiths card and coupons)! Now that is exhilarating! Now keep in mind that I have a Hungry basketball boy on my hands and we bought for about two weeks, so there was a LOT of groceries but 22 dollars definitely make a HUGE difference. (as Josh would say that could buy be 19 tacos) Let me share my secrets, I went to grocerysmarts.com and looked at all the grocery stores deals and prices to see which store to go to and which coupons to bring. Then I went to coupons.com (they have an awesome app) and printed out all the coupons I wanted. And TA-DA we saved ourselves 19 tacos! IF YOU HAVE MORE TIPS LET US KNOW!!!

Because we were out of groceries...before our awesome trip... we didn't have much options for dinner tonight so I decided to get a little creative.  I grabbed what we had and whipped up a chicken dinner! It turned out SO GOOD and I actually wanted to eat the peppers ( I DO NOT like veggies:))
Sorry if this looks gross but, it was DELICIOUS! Chicken cooked with  peppers and seasonings on top of  rice and black beans, topped with diced tomatoes! SO YUMMY!

My last domestic venture happened last weekend for, Josh's little sister, Amber's Birthday. She turned 7 and we wanted to do something fun for her! With the help of Josh and my mom we came up with a creative way to give a present to her! One weekend during 4th of July amber spent the night and we bought beta fish. The whole time she was so intrigued in him so we decided we would get her, her own! So,We put together 7 balloons with 7 hints that led her around the house to find her fish! We stuffed each balloon with a
caramel(her favorite candy)and  hint leading her to the next balloon. It was so much fun to put together and we meticulously picked out the best fish for the best little 7 year old!

all 7 balloons ready to go!

I didn't want to say goodbye to all the yummy caramels
she got her first clue!

trying to name him... she came up with Yoda-Beta

Weekend Champions

Josh and I got to go back to our "alma mater" this weekend for our high school homecoming football game. Too be honest I was really excited to go back, but I really don't think I would just show up unless it was homecoming. I don't want to be a super super super super senior:) The game was fun but, the best part was running into my old family ward friends and being reminded of the AMAZING people I was blessed to have in my life. The craziest part was seeing all the little ones I used to babysit running around and flirting! These were seriously kids that needed babysitting at one time and now they are on their own and with the OPPOSITE gender! I never did that at such a young age ;) Speaking of little ones growing up my best friends little sister has grown up so much too! She did such an amazing job and it is so much fun to watch her cheer!
Love her!

Saturday was filled with chores and running around to get errands done! We finally got our apartment ALL cleaned up and put away it feels SO nice to have that done. Its funny to think I thought I was all grown up back when I was finished with high school, moving out and going to school, but now there are so many more "grown up" things we have to do on our own. Its really fun (although sometimes not that fun) to learn how to take care of "big kid" things together. BUT, If you know Josh and Jordan Sharp we are 10% work and 90% play, so we head up to Jordan Ricks cabin with a bunch of other couples to hang out, eat, and supposedly watch the BYU game. It was so fun to see so many great high school friends and meet others we didn't know. While we barbequed they tried to get the game to stream to the TV. About a half an hour before there was still no success so we decided to head over to Grandma Lynn's to watch the sad defeat of our cougars. There was some choice words and pacing given by my grandpa and some loyalty change at the end of the game but, although they lost we are still true blue BYU fans and I am glad we didn't miss it! What a CRAZY game! GO BYU!

We are finally rounding up the last of our wedding pictures today so I finally get to do a wedding post! (4 1/2 months later) I can't wait! We really are loving and learning more and more about married life. I love being a wife and finding new wife tasks that make Josh (or myself) happy. This week my new favorite thing is making lunches. I know so simple but, putting together lunches for the both of us the night before makes me feel so "wifely".

(a little side note, we are thinking of fun things to do for ambers 7 year birthday present any ideas....I guess pinterest here I come)

Oh boy....Do we have a story for you

Our life together is a never ending story. At all times it is our own romance, sometimes we add a sub genre like comedy, childrens, horror, drama and suspense. The suspense pretty much only happens when Josh is driving:)

This weekend probably combined ALL the genres in to one. Let's go back a little bit to Friday the 31st.
I will try to make such a long story short, but its just too funny!

August 31, 2012
We got to go to a good friend Brian and Brooke's wedding reception. We have been so excited to see some of our friends get married and they are no exception. They looked great and their reception was beautiful. We didn't get to stay long because we were FINALLY moving in to our new place! We hurried to pick up my dads truck then to Draper to pick up some furniture we were being given to borrow from Grandpa Gary. I never thought I would get that excited about furniture but, I was just giddy while loading it up and my mind raced on how we would arrange it. We hurried back to Provo unloaded it all (keep in mind Josh and are are doing all of this practically on our own) jumped back in the truck drove back to highland to get the matress located at Josh's home. It was a lot larger than we thought so we were cramming and smooshing and trying to get it to work. We finally got it to work tied down by some bungee cords. We started on our way back to provo but, the matress wasn't completely stable, so I reach out the back window and held them down...THE WHOLE DRIVE BACK. It was so funny and I just wanted to be on the outside seeing how FUNNY that might have looked. We then unloaded the matress, (p.s. the bungee chord was SHREDDED, probably would have given out in a couple more miles) jumped back in the car drove to traverse mountain to bring the truck back and FINALLY got to go home at about 1 am.

If I haven't lost you by now....trust me there is more:)
Sept. 1
For some reason the universe was out to get us on September 1st.
We woke up started our day of more packing and moving. Josh had basketball while I packed and ran errands.....and then it went downhill from there. I was doing our THOUSANDS of loads of laundry(living out of boxes is SO hard!) and then Josh had been bugging me about getting checks so I start to head down to the bank just like normal take a brief left and I look behind me and I see siren lights. I panic, I have never experience being pulled over before and almost didn't know what to do. I pull over and remember CRAP! my registration was due in August! The officer comes to the window and tells me he was pulling me over for speeding. I HAD NO CLUE I was speeding, I NEVER speed, in fact I have been known by friends and family for being a grandma driver. My emotions start to flood as he explains and gets my license from me. I had a personal goal to NEVER EVER get a ticket but, he comes back with my ticket and I just can't keep the emotions in. He then says to me "M'am there is no reason to cry, this isn't a situation to cry about." I then apologize and explain the only reason I was crying so hard was it was my first. So now I am a member of the ticket club and I get to go to traffic school. I finally get to the bank and only the bank tellers are open, not the lobby so then I feel like the ticket was WORTHLESS. We then pack up with the help of Meagan and Debbie (THEY ARE AMAZING!) we get a lot of things moved and the day was looking up!

We then got to go to the Piano Guys concert! WE LOVE THEM! If you haven't heard them or watched them on youtube....GO DO IT NOW (in fact I will post our favorite here later) We get there at 6 to get a good spot and the sky was beautiful and clear when all of a sudden we got a COLD gust of wind. It rained and rained and rained and rained, we had a zebra blanket to cover us but that soon got wet and really cold. Luckily we had some jolley ranchers with us, those make any situation better! The concert finally started at 8 after 2 hours of FREEZING. When they started the weather eased up and we were amazed at the music and felt like it was worth it to sit through the rain! We really enjoyed every second of the concert and even got to see the first live performance of "makes you beautiful" everything was looking up....until it started to pour on the second to last song. We decided to get up and walk so at least by the time we left the gates we would have heard all of the songs. (if we are sounding miserable and you can't take it anymore you might want to stop now:)
We get to the car and find out Josh's car key fell off somewhere in the grass at thanksgiving point, after some help from strangers, back tracking and grass digging we give up and call my dad and step mom to pick us up (fortunately they lived a couple minutes down the road) They took us grocery shopping and back to PG to get my car. We drove back to Lehi with the spare key then back to Provo. WOW its kinda stressful just to reminisce.

We really enjoyed our first sunday at our new ward and got to play duels with my family so I can't complain about anything there. We even got to hang out with Kimball and Leslie. We love them so much and wish they lived up here, so we would have friends but, we LOVE when they visit and we like it even better when we get to visit them is St. George!

Luckily we got a day off of the craziness but, it just NEVER stops!

Within the last 3 days also
-I failed my safety and emissions due to too much tinting on the back window, and a back left tire :(
-My phone screen blacked out for some reason, so I can't really communicate with anyone or turn off alarms that KEEP GOING OFF!
-Today I had my first little bumper smash in the school parking lot...nothing big someone just backed into me but since again it was my "first" I was just a little bit flustered.

I may just hide under my covers next labor day but all in all these things just turn out funny because:
-I am grateful I even have a car
-I love our new apartment and the ward
-I got to see my dad and lisa
-We have such amazing family that helps us with anything we need
-We get to go to school and have that paid for
-I am married to the greatest man and we have SO MUCH FUN!
-Josh eases any stress I have and being married to him makes these silly things hillarious
-I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and have the knowledge that I do.
-I am grateful for such AMAZING MUSIC!!!(see below) we love EVERY SINGLE ONE of Piano Guys songs.
